About Us

Jamii Leadership Incorporated (JLI) is a small organization created by a former in-home early childhood educator in the Northwest Baltimore community. Latania Chisholm, affectionately known in the community as "Ms. Tania," began this company with the intent of extending her reach in the community to positively impact as many families as possible. Her organization provides youth and their families access to cultural & community-oriented education, healthy food, wellness options, and employment resources needed to sustain healthy living. While JLI was founded in 2020,  the works of Mrs. Chisholm and her organization are not new to the community. An extension of what was once in-home family childcare services has blossomed into a safe haven of services to exchange within our community.

Today, JLI has served and brought together many families in Baltimore City and beyond that have been directly impacted by limited education services, lack of affordable and safe childcare services, negative health and /or wellness solutions, unemployment,  and assisted with numerous personal affairs. 

In alignment with the Tanzanian proverb "Many hands make light work". We seek to empower the community by uplifting our youth, creating jobs, providing quality resources and/or programs for families, and making a difference in the lives of others. Over the years, our community has served 100+ families with early childhood education & childcare, community engagement, meal planning, youth mentoring, tutoring, and other family services.  Our Leaders listen, learn from each other, make connections, and stimulate growth in the community. Our unique approach to community building involves patience, trust, and understanding of those we seek to serve. Safe relationships with our youth, families, and team members are at the forefront of our mission as we seek to resolve the challenges many of our families face today.
